Se necesita chico 1963
Se necesita chico is a film about Toñín’s first day of work. Brought to us by the production company Procusa, Antonio Mercero once again turns to humour to win over the audience.
It has a very average screenplay where individual sequences bear the full weight of telling the story. The influence of the French director Jacques Tati is also obvious in this film: in the music and in the resources used, for example. In the first sequence, we see our leading man outside a flower shop with a sign in the window, reading: “Boy needed”. Hence the title of the film. This was a resource widely used by Tati, i.e. of inserting the title in the film.
