Antonio Mercero - Virtual museum

Tobi (Lolo García) is a 5-year-old boy. Overnight, wing-shaped protuberances appear on his back. His parents take him to hospital to find out what’s wrong with their son. Astonished to see that Tobi is growing little wings, the doctors tell his parents that they’ll have to take a closer look at the phenomenon. But Tobi doesn’t want to be in hospital and that night he noiselessly escapes from the building. Coming across a 5-year-old boy with wings in the street will cause a media uproar and, bending beneath enormous pressure, the parents agree to his image being used by a major advertising agency. From then on, Tobi will be unable to live a normal, peaceful life.

Antonio Mercero looked at many subjects thanks to Tobi: the limits of scientific experiments, the irresponsibility of the advertising world and the media in its use of children, the exploitation of children for business purposes and the morbid curiosity towards those who are different to us, among others.
