Los pajaritos 1973
According to La Vanguardia, the film Los pajaritos was a “beautiful combination of contamination and humour”. At a time when Madrid, the capital, is badly contaminated, the disappearance of birds becomes an everyday event and two elderly people launch an “operation” to save them. The lead actors are Julia Caba Alba and José Orjas, and their aim is to stop the mass killing of birds. The city doesn’t make it easy for them and they end up moving to the countryside. Winner of the Best Director Award at the Monte Carlo Festival in 1974.
